We had lots of fun at our annual pumpkin carving at Grandma & Grandpa Watt's house. They grew us all a pumpkin in their garden. Each of the kids picked what they wanted on their pumkin and most of them made their own. Wyatt did all of the 'poking' on his so I could cut it. He's getting pretty good at it. Maybe next year he will be able to cut some of it himself. Kasha chose to stick the face on hers so Mommy only had to gut and carve one pumpkin.

Kasha was a pretty little snow princess and Wyatt was Handy Manny for trick or treating. Kasha didn't quite understand it all. She was really sick last year and probably doesn't remember much. She kept asking if the treats were for her. When we got home, Wyatt had more fun racing for the door every time the door bell rang. He thought it was great fun putting treats in the kids' bags.

Carpenter Reunion-Idaho Falls

We had a great time when we headed to Idaho Falls for the family reunion. Our family went up Thursday night then Grandpa, Grandma, Josh and Tyler joined us on Friday. All Wyatt wanted to do was swim at the hotel but once I reminded him about the animals we would see, he quickly changed his suit for some shorts and we had a great day. The animals were AMAZING!! They were so close to the cars you could almost touch them. We also got to go on the curator tour and feed the animals...very cool!!! The animals walk right up to the truck, they know they get treats! The bears would sit up and beg SOOOOO COOL!!!! The kids had fun riding the carnival rides. Kasha would run from ride to ride saying, "again daddy, again!"
Friday night we went to a picnic at Ryan Carpenter's house. It was fun to see so many of the cousins. Grandpa and Kasha had a great time playing on the slide...just ask him :)
Saturday we went to the reunion in honor of Grandma Lizzie Carpenter's 110th birthday. It was fun to finally meet face to face all these people I've only met via email or stories. Now there are faces to go with those names. Needless to say we had a great few days but we were all exhausted by the time we got home.

4th of July

We started our holiday weekend by going to the Uintahs with Carrie's family. We had a great time riding in the mountains and the rain. The holidays are meant to be spent with family. The ridge that we rode to is in the high Uintah range. My family spent many 4th or 24th of July visiting that very spot and having a snowball fight and playing in the snow.

I remembered seeing this steam engine as a child at the train station here in Morgan. I knew Wyatt would LOVE seeing it too.

I found this information about the train: Steam Locomotive No. 844 is the last steam locomotive built for Union Pacific Railroad. It was delivered in 1944. A high-speed passenger engine, it pulled such widely known trains as the Overland Limited, Los Angeles Limited, Portland Rose and Challenger.
Many people know the engine as the No. 8444, since an extra '4' was added to its number in 1962 to distinguish it from a diesel numbered in the 800 series. The steam engine regained its rightful number in June 1989, after the diesel was retired.
When diesels took over all of the passenger train duties, No. 844 was placed in freight service in Nebraska between 1957 and 1959. It was saved from being scrapped in 1960 and held for special service.
The engine has run hundreds of thousands of miles as Union Pacific's ambassador of goodwill. It has made appearances at Expo '74 in Spokane, the 1981 opening of the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans and the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Los Angeles Union Station in 1989.
Hailed as Union Pacific's "Living Legend," the engine is widely known among railroad enthusiasts for its excursion runs, especially over Union Pacific's fabled crossing of Sherman Hill between Cheyenne and Laramie, Wyoming.

Needless to say we had LOTS of fun.

Easter!!

We got to celebrate Easter 2 weekends in a row. The first with Grandma & Grandpa Watt and the "tousins" then the next (on Easter Sunday) with Grandpa & Grandma Carpenter.
This morning Wyatt wanted to know if it was still Easter so he could hide the eggs in the back yard for Kasha. He took out the empty eggs and spread them all over the yard for her to pick up. They both had a ball.
Mommy got to spend the day at home with the kids today and loved just playing with them! But back to school tomorrow for 25 more days then we can play all summer!!

We can hardly believe that our little "big" guy is 4!! Can't believe how fast time flies! Mommy took the day off school and Daddy took the afternoon off from the office and we played. We had a fabulous time at the Treehouse Museum in Ogden. Then went to McDonald's (Wyatt's favorite place to eat) for dinner with Grandma & Grandpa Carpenter, Maddie Jo, Mary Beth, John, Josh & Ty. It was a big full day but a great fun one!

On Saturday, Wyatt's birthday, he chose to ride the Front Runner train to Salt Lake for the day. Our friends Cody, Melissa, Jessi, Jenna & Jamie went with us and we had an absolutely marvelous day. When we got to Salt Lake all Wyatt wanted to do was see the "big" Jesus by the temple and play in the water. He did exactly that!

On the way home, Mommy asked him what was his favorite thing that we did. His reply was riding the train!

We have had our tree standing in the living room for a week now, we thought it was time to decorate it. It will definately be a trick keeping it decorated. Our little Kasha thinks the balls are for pulling off the branches and throwing across the room. Wyatt just moves the ornaments from branch to branch. We have a nice little cluster of gold balls right in the middle of the tree.

We carved pumpkins for Family Home Evening at Grandpa and Grandma Watt's. Grandpa grew the pumpkins in the garden this summer so there were plenty for everyone. Kasha learned that the gooey guts do NOT taste like pumkin cookies and really aren't all that good to eat. Wyatt isn't fond of the guts either. He says they are slimy. But, give him a little pumpkin saw and he is a happy camper!

We thought we would try this out since so many of our family are far away. We wanted to keep in touch!

The kids are growing like little weeds! They are so much fun. Kasha is starting to speak in 2-3 word sentences. She brought Mommy to tears when she said 'love you' to her on Sunday. 'No, Ayatt" seems to be another favorite. Obviously that won't be the last time we hear that phrase.

Wyatt remembered playing in the leaves last fall with Maddie Jo. So he talked us into raking up and playing in the leaves. We had a great time!! (This was before it snowed on Saturday and Sunday!)
